Question 2

Do you offer free estimates?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All estimates are free. Fill out our request form with your property location, the service you're looking for, and your timeframe, and we'll follow up to schedule a site visit and provide a clear, honest quote.

Question 3

What exactly is forestry mulching?

Accepted Answer

Forestry mulching is a land clearing method that uses a specialized mulching head attachment on a compact track loader to grind brush, small trees, and overgrowth directly into the ground. The result is a layer of wood chip mulch that naturally suppresses weeds and protects the soil — no hauling, no burning, and no bare dirt left behind. It's one of the most efficient and environmentally friendly ways to clear land.

Question 4

Do you handle both residential and commercial properties?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We work with residential homeowners and smaller commercial property owners. We're best suited for jobs that require compact track loader equipment — land clearing, grading, trenching, road resurfacing, and similar work. We don't pursue large-scale industrial excavation contracts, but if you're a homeowner or small business with a tough land management challenge, we're the right call.

Question 5

Will I work directly with the owner?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Wicks is owner-operated, so you work directly with the owner — the person who walks your property and scopes the job stays accountable from the first walkthrough to the final grade. Some jobs call for extra hands or a specialized trade, like a plumber to set a water line or a hauler to deliver rock. When they do, we coordinate those trusted partners and manage the work, so you always have a single point of contact.

Question 6

How do I get started?

Accepted Answer

Fill out the estimate request form on this site. Tell us your location, what service you need, and when you're looking to get it done. We'll review your request and follow up to schedule a site visit and provide a free estimate. From there, we'll agree on a scope and timeline and get to work.

Question 7

What equipment do you use?

Accepted Answer

Our primary machine is a compact track loader — a rubber-tracked piece of heavy equipment that's highly versatile and capable of operating in tight spaces and on uneven terrain. Depending on the job, we attach different implements including a mulching head, grading blade, trenching attachment, or bucket. We also operate commercial-grade zero-turn mowers for large property mowing.

Question 8

Do you haul away debris?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the service. Forestry mulching leaves a mulch layer in place — there's nothing to haul. For brush clearance and debris cleanup jobs, we can discuss disposal options during the estimate. Some clients prefer debris left on-site; others need it removed. We'll work with your preference.
